Mermaid Chronicles Part 1: She Creature (2001)

She Creature is a period piece, set around the turn of the century in Ireland. A sideshow couple somehow steal a mermaid and get it onto a ship heading for America.

She Creature (2001) * (out of 4) Sam Arkoff remade several of his early cult classics but this has very little to do with the original 1956 film. Carnival owners discover a mermaid and bring her to America to show off and make some quick cash but it turns out this mermaid is a little crazy.

If you meet some bloke with a mermaid in his basement, and he tells you that it's a murderous thing which killed his wife, then it might just be a good idea to believe him and not steal it to take it to America to feature as the main attraction in your freak sideshow. Because, you see, the mermaid might not have watched the Disney feature.
